In Monopoly Go, landmark spending works best when you know what you're saving for before you tap Build. The next upgrade can seem manageable, but several remaining levels may cost far more than expected. Check the prices shown in your game, then choose one target: finish a landmark, clear a task, or complete the board. If an event reward is active, see whether it matches that target. A Monopoly Go Partners Event can be a useful moment to plan around, but event timing doesn't make an upgrade cheaper. Waiting on its own won't change the listed cost.

Check the full cost, not just the next tap

Open Build and look at all five landmark cards, even if you only plan to upgrade one. Write down each displayed price and note whether damage means a repair comes first. A one-level budget is simply the next upgrade's cost; a board-completion budget is the sum of every remaining level, plus any required repair. Don't mix those targets. Each regular upgrade adds Net Worth and puts a house on a random property tile. That can change rent when another player lands there. The board is complete only after all five landmarks reach their highest level, so check the new prices again when you move on.

Spend when the reward fits your goal

Before you build, read the live event description. It may reward one level, a finished landmark, or a completed board; those aren't interchangeable. Landmark Rush may appear, but its schedule can shift, so use the timer on screen rather than guessing. Quick Wins can be a reason to make one small upgrade. Read the task, do only what it asks, and claim the reward on the Quick Wins page. If you need more cash, collect from Go, rent, board spaces, and tasks, then return to Build. Don't pour dice into a high multiplier unless the visible objective and reward make the extra rolls worth it.

Keep a little cash ready, not a pile

There's a trade-off to saving for a large build: cash can be taken during a heist, while shields protect landmarks from Shutdown damage. A shield is used when it blocks an attack; without one, a damaged landmark may need repair before its next upgrade. If you can't build, check both your cash and the repair status. Keep the amount you need for a near-term goal, and avoid buying extra levels just to clear your balance. Before logging off, glance at the event timer and any task rewards. If a pack is part of a reward, track your Mogo stickers alongside the build target, then spend only when the numbers and timing suit you.
